“The 2024 and 27th Bandolero Nationals will be contested at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, September 6-7. It will be the first trip for the event to the State of Iowa and only the second time the event has been held in the Midwest. First held in 1998, Bandolero Nationals has visited 11 tracks through 2023, with Hawkeye Downs becoming the 12th different track to host the event.
Bandolero Nationals is a required race for drivers chasing an INEX National Bandolero Championship. The two Bandolero divisions, Outlaws and Bandits, compete separately with individual features. History was made in 2023, when Alison Johnson became the first female to win the Outlaws Bandolero Nationals championship feature, on her way to becoming the first female to win the INEX Bandolero Outlaws National Championship.”
Tickets are available for spectators at the gate. Cash or card is accepted.

Hawkeye Downs Speedway
For nearly 100 years, Hawkeye Downs has been a popular venue for regional and national racing series, including ASA, IMCA, NASCAR, ARCA Midwest Tour, and the American Indycar Series. Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center is Eastern Iowa’s premiere 1/2 and 1/4 asphalt racing venue and offers over 35,000 square feet of event space in the Expo Center. Events at Hawkeye Downs include weekly racing, enduro racing, drag racing, and drifting, as well as trade shows, meetings, conventions, concerts, auctions, weddings, and private events that attract more than 100,000 visitors annually. Hawkeye Downs operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit in the state of Iowa.
Schedule of Events
Pit gates open at 9:00AM both Friday, September 6th and Saturday, September 7th. Tech will be open from 10:00AM to 12:00PM both days. There will be a mandatory drivers meeting at 11:30AM each day., followed by practice.

Hawkeye Downs Speedway & Expo Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa has a half-mile and quarter-mile asphalt oval track with a 741 ft elevation that hosts a variety of racing events, including stock car races, modifieds, enduros, street drags, and drifting expos. The track opened in 1925 as Frontier Park with a dirt track, and in 1989 became Iowa's first paved oval with paved pits, an enclosed tech building, and MUSCO lighting. The facilities offer grandstand seating, grass parking, wheelchair accessible entrances and seating, and an ATM on-site.

The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids offers multiple rental car options, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar Car Rental, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. Additionally, Cedar Rapids offers multiple private rental cars through Turo. Lyft and Uber services are available to/from the Eastern Iowa Airport, but Uber does not participate after 9PM CT.
Hawkeye Downs is less than five miles from the airport.
