In honor of Hawkeye Downs’ 100th year of racing, the track will host the Dirt at the Downs Classic. Gates open at 4:00pm each day, with tickets available at the gate or online at MyRacePass.com.

The Surf Zombies will perform at Tavern on the Mall on Friday, October 10th from 9:30pm to midnight. FREE ADMISSION TO ALL AGES. Tavern on the Mall cash beer sales will be open from 9:30pm to midnight.
ABOUT THE BAND: Surf Zombies raise surf rock from the dead with fast, crazy, original instrumentals that straddle retro surf, bubblegum punk and garage rock, conjuring images of beach parties, Saturday morning cartoons, and hot rod car shows. The driving rhythms, swirling tremolo, crashing spring reverb from dueling guitars and authentic growl of vintage tube amps make for a truly weird Midwestern wonder. Surf Zombies have played in all corners of Iowa and frequently visit Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Nebraska. They twice shared the stage with the late surf guitar godfather Dick Dale, have a beer named after them from Iowa Brewing Company, and received the Spirit Award from the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. HEY RACERS! Are you interested in reserving a paved pit stall at the track? Contact Brian Gibson at brian.gibson@hawkeyedowns.org with your name, phone number, and length of your hauler. Phone call/text reservation requests will NOT be accepted. Dirt parking stalls will be available with no reservation required. Check-in on race night to claim your pit stall is required by 4:30PM or your pit stall will be forfeited. Cost per reserved pit stall is $20.
