Weather Update: July 11th Races Canceled

Our NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series program scheduled for Friday, July 11th, at Hawkeye Downs has been CANCELED, due to the severe weather threat in Eastern Iowa.

NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace’s appearance has been rescheduled to next Friday, July 18th. He will host an autograph session as well as race in the #7 Cassill Motors Sport Mod.

Work is in progress at the racetrack to get the facilities ready for tomorrow night’s Miller 100 presented by Van Meter! Pits open at 2:00pm for racers, gates open at 4:00pm to the public, and opening ceremonies will be at 7:00pm with racing to follow.

Hawkeye Downs has hosted the prestigious 100-lap racing event since 1973. With decades of partnership and fundraising efforts, the Fleck family supported the race with sponsorship and lending the Miller name for many years. Proceeds of the 50/50 raffle will benefit Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa in honor of Keith Fleck. We are also excited to host Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors at the track tomorrow night.
